The Chingay Parade Singapore 2010 will take place on Friday, 19 February 2010 from 8.30 pm to 10.30 pm and on Saturday, 20 February 2010 from 8 pm to 10.00 pm. This will be followed by an all-night party on 20 February 2010 from 10.15 pm to 4 am the following day. The event is expected to draw a crowd of 65,000 people on each day.
TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS
To facilitate the traffic arrangements for the event, the following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic during the stipulated duration:

Motorists are advised to avoid the affected area, including all peripheral roads leading to the area. Auxiliary Police officers will be deployed at all affected road junctions to regulate traffic and assist motorists.
Parking restriction along the peripheral roads will be strictly enforced. Vehicles found parking and causing obstruction will be towed away.
SBS and SMRT buses serving the affected roads will be diverted during the road closures.
SAFETY AND SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS
Due to the anticipated crowds, measures such as barricades and signages have been set up in the Marina Bay area. Members of the public are advised to co-operate with and follow the instructions of the Police, Auxiliary Police Officers and Marshals. They are also advised be prepared for inclement weather.
Members of the public are advised to be vigilant and look after their belongings, especially when they are in crowded places. For security and safety reasons, bags and personal items may be subjected to checks by the Police and Auxiliary Police Officers. Members of the public are advised to co-operate with the Police and Auxiliary Police Officers should any checks be conducted. They can also notify the Police of any suspicious items or persons by calling ‘999′.
In view of the security checks, ticket holders are advised to arrive early for the Parade. Ticket holders are also encouraged to travel light and avoid bringing bulky bags to speed up the security checks.
